🌟🌟🌟WE’RE HIRING 🌟🌟🌟
We are looking for a new Festival Manager.
This a truly great, challenging and rewarding role. If you are passionate about sharing science, and have experience in events, take a look and spread the word.
You get to work with a great team of Directors, volunteers and local Midlothian groups too.
You’ll be a team of two as we will also be recruiting an admin post very soon also.
14 hours per week. Deadline 10 Feb. Ideally to be able to start

We loved the star scouts event at Newbattle Abbey College 💫 My son learned a lot at this event and I discovered that the ‘shooting stars’ or ‘meteors’ I thought I was spotting in the sky were actually satellites 🙄. We also really enjoyed the rocket building event at glencorse- great fun for my 4 & 9 year olds.

We enjoyed making our own Papier Mache volcanos 🌋 at Penicuik Library! Unexpected fact we learned; It IS possible to carry two ‘still wet’ volcanos home on the bus without them falling apart! So many fun and free activities though, it’s hard to choose; we enjoyed Fun Science, Nanoscale Art and Small Stories at Loanhead Library too and the Calm event at IKEA 👍

I thought this was the best year so far. I loved the bee worship at Newbattle- the science was good, as was the hospitality around the log burning stove; and the physics of fire was fantastic. I was inspired to go out and learn to identify fungi, from the fungi talk- it's not something I know much about. My 2 year old really enjoyed the tots activities at Dalkeith- we now have water beads 😆.

Some photos from our ‘knit a neutron’ event at Newbattle library.
(We’re just sorting photos from our bigger events and will create some galleries)
That’s the 2019 festival all finished and what a Festival it has been!
THANK YOU to everyone who has come and joined us over the past two weeks, and of course a HUGE THANK YOU to all the amazing x 500 strong team of volunteers involved.
Now where’s that drink 🍻🥂🍻🥂
