Walkie Talkies – CANCELLED
October 7 @ 11:00 – 12:30| Free
UPDATE: EVENT CANCELLED
Due to 40-50mph winds forecast for this afternoon, we have made the very tough and sad decision to cancel today’s Wild Outdoor Science and other events taking place at Vogrie including the Walkie Talkies dog walk.
It is too unsafe with such strong winds there is a high risk of breaking and falling branches.
We sincerely apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience caused. We are already thinking about rescheduling in the spring as a one-off event!
Some people say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but we disagree! Bring your four-legged friend along to Vogrie Country Park to explore the science of dog behaviour and health with the Midlothian Dog Training Club and scientists from The Roslin Institute. We’ll start off with some short talks and training activities, followed by a walk around Vogrie.
Places are limited to a maximum of 12 dogs (and their human companions) so please arrive promptly to book your place. Meet us outside Vogrie House from 10.45am to sign up, event runs from 11am-12:30pm.
The event will run whatever the weather, so please bring suitable clothing and footwear as well as a lead for your dog. We will be doing some reward-based training exercises as part of the event, so please also bring very small-sized pieces of your dog’s favourite high value reward (e.g. hot dog sausage, cheese, chicken).
