Join Midlothian Ranger Service and scientists from The Roslin Institute for a grand day out on the bike in Midlothian’s countryside. This will be a gently paced cycle with frequent stops. We will hear from our scientists, rangers, an oil seed rape producer and farmer en route….so be prepared for a lesson in gunpowder production, death, disease and sheep, amongst other things! Our route will take us from The Easter Bush campus
Please be aware that you must be able to cycle up some steep hills or be able to push you bike uphill. You will need to bring a bike that can be cycled on rough, unsurfaced farm tracks. Please bring lunch, drinks and a spare inner tube. You will also need waterproofs and warm clothing. The total distance cycled will be around 20 miles.
Please bring a bicycle, waterproof clothing (in case of bad weather) and a packed lunch. Free parking is available on site.
Light refreshments and a tour of the building will be provided on return to The Roslin Institute.
Please note: Places for this event are limited – free tickets must be pre-booked using the link below.
