Hear from The Roslin Institute’s aquaculture researchers about their work to improve the health of a variety of farmed aquatic species, from salmon to oysters. A talk hosted by the Penicuik U3A and open to all.
Aquaculture is a growing industry in Scotland and around the world and includes fish, shellfish and other animal and plant species. In order to produce healthy, sustainable food, aquaculture farmers need improved breeding programmes to help them overcome major challenges such as infectious diseases.
Hear from researchers at The Roslin Institute about how their work on the genetics of farmed fish and shellfish, as well as the diseases that affect them, aims to improve health and boost productivity on the fish farm.
