Meet the Cows
Wed October 15, 2014 @ 11:00 – 12:30
Ever wondered where the milk on your breakfast cereal comes from? Find out on a guided tour of Langhill Farm where you’ll meet our herd of Holstein-Friesian cows and discover the science and technology being used in 21st century dairy farming.
Part of the University of Edinburgh’s Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Langhill Farm is a working farm with cows providing fresh milk every day as well as a centre for dairy herd research and a place to train the farm vets of tomorrow.
Because Langhill Farm is a working farm, wellies or other sturdy waterproof footwear and farm-appropriate clothes are essential for the tour, especially if the weather is wet. The tour is suitable for adults and children aged 7 and over (who must be accompanied by an adult) and will go ahead whatever the weather.
There is free parking at Langhill Farm, which can be found just off the B7006 north of Roslin village. The farm is a short walk from bus stops on the B7006 served by Lothian buses #15 and #40.
We are sorry but this venue is not wheelchair accessible.
This event is ticketed and costs £2.00. Tickets can be bought here or via the URL in the ticket section below.
