Life stories and science from a world famous study of the ageing brain.
On 4 June 1947, at the age of 11, Helen Lamb sat an intelligence test along with over 70,000 Scottish school children. Over 50 years later she and 1,090 of the others who sat the test began helping scientists to study the brain. Lifetimes tells some of their stories.
Free copies of Lifetimes, by Ann Lingard will be available from all Midlothian Libraries for those who have a confirmed ticket for the event. It is also available as a free downloadable e-book on iTunes and Kobo and for a small fee on Kindle. The stories can also be read online at: www.lbclifetimes.org/ and click on ‘Lifetimes’
Come along and discuss the book, meet some of the scientists and maybe test your brain. There will also be a showing of The Living Brain, a short film by Anne Milne about the study.
This venue is wheelchair accessible
