Happiness in everyday life
For Mental Health Awareness Day 2018 we invite three University of Edinburgh researchers to discuss happiness. What is happiness, what makes us happy, and does staying happy keep us healthy?
Stella Chan is a Clinical Psychologist and lead researcher on Project Soothe which explores why some images elicit feelings of calmness and peacefulness.
Catharine Ward Thompson is Professor of Landscape Architecture at the Edinburgh College of Art. She is Director of OPENspace research centre. Her work focuses on how outdoor environments and engagement with nature affect wellbeing, and how to make access to urban green spaces more inclusive.
Stephen Lawrie is Professor of Psychiatry, Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences. His research focuses on mental health, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and depression.
With singing from the Harmony Choir!
Come along Wednesday 10th from 6:30pm-8pm.
