Festival dates: Sat 6 – Sat 20 Oct 2018
We are delighted to be opening our ‘Call for Events and Ideas’ for our 2018 festival and we are looking forward to, with your continued support, creating a festival programme that is innovative, bold and full of events & activities that:
- Inspire, engage and excite…
- Will appeal and be accessible to a diverse range of audiences (including those not traditionally engaged with science)
- Connect the audience / participants with scientific research
- Showcase STEM happening in Midlothian
- Showcase Midlothian’s role at a global level
At this stage you do not have to have all of the details finalised, and our volunteer Creative Team are very happy to help you to develop your idea and to support you to co-create your event/activity with local Midlothian communities & organisations. But please do fill in as much information as you can on the online form.
Our programme includes both stand-alone events (talks/tours/workshops/activities) and an array of very popular science ‘gala days’ which are populated by table top and drop-in activities.
We are happy for you to offer something tried and tested but would love for you to try out something new and pioneering too.
Submission Deadline: 12 noon on Monday 30 April 2018
We’re excited to hear more about how you would like to contribute to our 2018 Festival and look forward to hearing from you. In the meantime if you have any questions or would like to discuss a possible event/activity/ideas further please contact Claire Jellema (Festival Manager).
