Dolly the sheep

Life changing experiments on your doorstep, Clare Button, tells the story of pioneering animal breeder and Penicuik man James Cossar Ewart, Professor of Natural History at Edinburgh University (1882-1933). He carried out breeding experiments with zebras, horses and other animals and lead Edinburgh to be one of the worlds institutes for genetic research. See the experiments with your own eyes though a display of images and glass slides that captured Ewart’s work and learn about this fascinating Penicuik animal breeder who has shaped genetics as we know it today.
